After roaming Lin-Wood for a bit in search of Erika Brown, I find her very nonchalantly sitting with her feet up in the back room of Mr. Webster’s room. You could feel that the room was a very comfortable environment for her. She had a sort of mellow vibe, and as I pull up a chair, I explain I’ll be conducting an interview. So as she finishes what she was doing we begin.
What are your plans after high school?I am hopefully going to Champlain College in Vermont and going to major Creative writing and minor in professional writing.
Why Champlain College? Because I had one of my writer’s conference [there], but it didn’t seem to have creative writing. Later I found out it did.
Why creative writing? Because I love to write; however, it’s hard to get a job with just creative writing, so I want the professional writing to work for a newspaper and create some connections.
Do you plan to stay in New England? Move far?I plan to stay in New England, but I do want to travel around the country and outside the country. It's home. I love New England. I love the fall and winter, gotta have that snow.

What have you enjoyed about your time here at Lin-Wood?
I got really close to a bunch of teachers like Mr.Webster and Ms. Shamey. Lin-wood has given me many opportunities, and I was able to make a lot of friends.
What are some regrets you have?
My freshman year. It was really bad. I really struggled in physics class and had a hard time comprehending the material.
What was your favorite class here at Lin-Wood?
Theory of Knowledge. It’s a really good class that allows you to look at everything with a open mind. It taught me that you keep a close mind looking at things. Also, I was able to get closer to Ms. Shamey; a good way of getting close to a teacher is by taking an elective with them.
Was there any class or program you wish Lin-Wood offered?I really wished that A.P. U.S. History was offered -- I would have taken it and Sociology.
I love behavior and learning how people react. Also, I think learning history is important. What is your success story? Something you are most proud ofI got into a really prestigious writing conference, and I was accepted as one of 200 students nationwide.

What advice do you have for younger Lin-Wood high school student?
Try. Try really hard and you only get 4 years, and it comes back to bite you when it affects your GPA. Also, don’t disrespect your teachers because they’ll be there to help you your senior year. So try.
What will you miss when you leave home or just leave Lin-Wood?
Web, I’m going to miss Web. I’m going to miss having something to do every day because now, I’ll sit at home and watch Netflix.
