At the school day's final bell, I walked down to Mrs. Whitcher's room in hopes to interview the English Department's new student aid. I was not disappointed when I found her, Mrs. Aldridge, sitting at the desk, speaking to another teacher about the day's events. Mrs. Aldridge has been training to become an English teacher at Lin-Wood Public School. With a smile on her face, she agreed to answer my questions.
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in a small town in the Adirondacks in Upstate New York.
Where do you go to college?
PSU. I ... [like it at Plymouth State University], but I don't spend much time there. I live here in Lincoln, so I pretty much go there to do classes and go home. I don't even do that now because I now I go [to Lin-Wood to learn]
What were/are some of your favorite classes in college?
I LOVE[D] GLOBAL LIT! ... Digital humanities was fun, [too], but it wasn't really a class. It was just stuff we did throughout all of my literature courses.

Why do you want to become a teacher?
I've always wanted to become a teacher. I used to play school with my little brother and [older] sister. English is my passion, and I really like teaching so far.
Have you any advice for those about to graduate high school?
First of all, do what you want to do. Make decisions based on what is best for you--not based on hat others want you to do. Follow your dreams and do what makes you happy. Don't sell yourself short! You guys are all smart and capable of great things. Don't ________ yourself. Be active and involved in whatever college or community you decide to be a part of.
