I called forth Justin from the ELO Room. We walked just a few feet from the room into the hall adjacent to Mrs. Curriers’ classroom. I carefully positioned my laptop on the ledge so that we both could see the questions. Next, I moved my recorder so that it would be able to catch his voice. Borges looked at it confused -- then nodded his head in understanding. With everything all settled I began the interview.
What are your plans after high school?
Well, I think immediately after high school, I’m going to go to a community college.
Preferably White Mountain, and I’m going to be doing general studies for two years and
if I still don’t know what I want to do by then I’m gonna get out of college and figure out what I’m gonna do with my life.

Do you plan to stay in New England? Move Far?
There's a chance that I might just settle down in this beautiful town. I might move for a short part of my life, but when I have children, I want them to experience this school too.
What are some things you’ve enjoyed about your time here at Lin-Wood?
Well, I enjoyed the great teachers here. There's a wide range of them with varying personalities. I also like the sports teams and the bonds you make with the people in this small school.
What are some regrets you have? Academic? Social?
I regret moving to Maine and missing two years of high school. I think just having a junior and senior year here haven’t fulfilled my wants for this school. So I definitely regret moving away.
How could you have been more involved? In the school community or the community outside of school?
Outside of school, I definitely could have called up some of the Rotary people and done some community service with them. And then in the school community, I could have done more Project Venture classes.
Was there any class or program you wish Lin-Wood offered?
Maybe more of a personal finance class rather than an economics class because I feel that
I would take much more out of knowing how to write a check or doing my morgage on
my house, then I would early century economics.

Do you have a favorite class here at Lin-wood?
I’d have to say my ELO classes. Currently, I am taking Real World Parenting, Biology
and U.S. History. The thing I love about VLACS is that I can go at my own pace.

What is your success story? Something you are most proud of…
Maybe my middle school team when Sean O’Brian and Chat, everybody put 110% into that team, and we would all show up at 5 o’clock to do Insanity with Sean and have practice early, early in the morning and then have a game. I was just so proud of everyone who would wake up that early. We all shared a great love of basketball.
What advice do you have for any younger Lin-Wood high school student?
Stay with it. Always do your homework, there's no reason not to. Always find that time in the day to fulfill your educational needs. And try to get to know every teacher, one on one.
What will you miss when you leave home or just leave Lin-Wood?
I’ll probably miss my friends and even the people I wouldn’t consider friends, like acquaintances, I will miss them too.
